Return Policy for Whirlingturban Bridal Boutique:

On wedding blogs, one complaint you read about ordering wedding dresses online or mail order from places like David's Bridal is that, when the dress arrives, the customer sometimes finds the dress shopworn; others have tried it on and it isn’t in new condition anymore.

We plan to insure that this doesn’t happen to our customers!

1) You may try on a “Loaner” sample, made from plain cotton muslin, of the wedding dress in the style and size you are considering. This way you can check the fit and see the lines and shape of the dress on you. You should also request fabric swatch samples. If there are any other details on the actual wedding dress you are considering that you'd like to see and can't see on our site, ask for them and we will take close-up photos for you.

2) You must pay for the shipping of the "Loaner" dress in both directions, plus a security deposit for the loaner. Some of our loaner dresses are located in the United States and some are in Bali. The cost to ship the dress to you from our workshop in Bali is approximately $29 - $40. If you are in the United States, you can return the dress to our California address which should cost less than $12, as will the cost to ship TO you. (We will tell you the exact shipping costs before you decide to proceed to borrow the loaner dress.) The shipping is not refundable for any reason.

Since it is possible that you would like to try on more than one style or size, you may try on as many Loaner dresses as you like, one at a time, as long as you pay shipping and return each Loaner dress in good condition and a fee of $25 per Loaner item. We must have a deposit on each Loaner item during the time it is in your possession.

3) The deposit for the Loaner dress is $200. If you decide to order a dress from us after trying on the Loaner dress, $175 can be applied toward the purchase price of your dress. If you decide not to order a dress, your deposit will be returned to you less the $25 processing fee when the dress is returned in the same and equally good condition in which you received it. If the dress needs cleaning or was not packed neatly so that it needs professional steaming to be acceptable to the next customer, the cost of cleaning and/or pressing will be deducted from your deposit at the sole discretion of Whirlingturban.

4) If the dress is not post-marked as shipped out again by you within two weeks from the date you received it -or is deemed by Whirlingturban to be irreparably damaged- your security deposit will not be refunded. If you want us to see the dress fit on you and are considering a custom-fit dress, please notify us within 1 week of your receipt of the loaner dress. We will tell you how to take digital photos of yourself in the dress in order to communicate to us the information about the fit that we will need. We charge $25 per "fitting evaluation" of a round of photos from you sent to us to help you determine how to improve the fit via alterations or customizations we can do for you, underwear suggestions, etc.

5) Upon returning the Loaner item, the evaluation of the condition of the Loaner dress and decisions about its need for cleaning or professional pressing is 100% at Whirlingturban’s discretion and not subject to the customer’s opinion about its condition.

6) In committing to “borrow” a Loaner dress, you agree to be subject to the above conditions. You agree to let Whirlingturban’s judgment about the dress’s condition, return and refund to be final and promise not to contest the charge- or our decisions- with your credit card company, PayPal, Google Checkout, lawsuit or in any other manner. You understand that the charge is not contestable for any reason.

7) Whirlingturban’s actual wedding dresses are not returnable for any reason. In committing to buy a wedding dress, you agree to waive the right to return and promise not to contest the charge with your credit card company, PayPal, Google Checkout, lawsuit or in any other manner. You understand that the charge is not contestable for any reason. For this reason we emphatically suggest you order and try loaner garments.

8) There are times when Whirlingturban may opt to refund or replace an item. You agree by purchasing that this decision is at Whirlingturban’s sole discretion. If you mail a dress to Whirlingturban and we accept the package, this does not constitute our agreeing to accept the return or to replace or refund.

9) Dresses will fit as closely to the size of the Loaner dresses as is humanly possible, but customers, like movie stars, must always be prepared for the possible need for alterations in order to have a perfect dress for a perfect day. Our dresses are made one by one, by hand, using the same patterns as the Loaner dresses while also using an extensive list of measurements taken from the dress seams that have been recorded and are then matched when we sew the actual wedding dress. However, please be aware that different fabrics will stretch more than others and the human hand will make for very minor differences from garment to garment. By purchasing, you acknowledge that each dress will fit slightly differently. We have a remarkable track record for a precise fit; we really care and we are very careful, but we will not view a slight difference in fit from dress to dress, made from different fabrics, as an error on our part.

The happiness of our customers is of paramount importance to us! Our customers are wonderfully thoughtful and cooperative, and so are we! However, we must protect ourselves against the rare, unreasonable, or unfair individual with this policy, just in case. We sincerely hope you understand!

GENERAL RETURN POLICY: Returns accepted for new, completed, standard size, unaltered and non-custom and non-white-toned items only. Custom orders, wedding dresses and altered items are not returnable but please contact us if you are unhappy and we will do our best to reach a satisfactory solution. Customer pays all shipping fees. Most returnable items can be returned to a special U.S. address that we will provide to you when you email us re: your desire to return the item. Return MUST be authorized or it is not valid and will not be refunded. You must email us about your intent to return within three days of your receipt of the item, receive authorization to return and special, return-to shipping address. Your return must be postmarked within ten days of your receipt of the item.

SHIPPING: You will be informed of shipping costs at the time of purchase. Shipping time in transit is usually 5-6 days but can take up to two weeks on the extremely rare occasion that it gets caught in customs, over which we have no control. We use International Expedited Mail Service which will have a tracking number and will be delivered by your postal system unless you request another shipping method for which you must request a price quote from us. Your finished item purchase is normally shipped within 3 days of receipt of your cleared payment unless sewing of the item is still in process. Please let us know if you need your item in a rush, we'll help! Your custom-made item will be shipped as mutually agreed in our email regarding the item when we discuss your event and needs; determined by the specifics of construction time requirements.
