Our charming Wing Bust style was made by studying an original from the 50's designed by the brilliant Alfred Shaheen. The lines are ingeniously flattering and the "wings" at the bust dramatic and whimsical. Waist is flatteringly dropped, just a bit. Boned cups.

The dress can be worn strapless or with the matching halter strap in the contrast color or in white - you'll receive both.

This snow white fabric has been known as "polished cotton" or "cotton satin" since it has a subtle sheen. Polished cotton was very popular at mid century and is very difficult to find nowadays, particularly in a substantial weight that gives the luxurious character to vintage garments that we so love.

We have used a matte cotton in French Blue for the contrast on this dress but you can contact us about using any color you fancy for the contrast, including high shine satin if that's more your style. If we have a fabric in the color you want on hand to use for bust contrast, it's included in the stated price as is all white at the bust. If we need to be involved in research or find the fabric you want, it will cost a bit more, depending on complexity.

We've photographed the dress with a white crinoline. The crinoline is not included but we can help you get one (or two. The brand we recommend has the most skirt support and is also the most vintage authentic in construction and materials of all that are on the market today. And they happen to carry a very modest price tag!

Bodice is highly constructed, lined and interlined. Skirt is unlined. If you'd like a lining between the dress and your crinoline petticoat, you may order the dress made that way at an additional cost.
