This is dress is a "get one free" because there are infinitesimally small "wax marks" on it. There are tiny tan specks in few places on the fabric where the batik wax which is caramel in color did not come out completely. The marks are so small that we didn't even notice them when we cut and sewed the fabric, but only noticed them later upon very close inspection when we had sold the dress and were wrapping it for shipping. (So, of course, we didn't sell it.) The fabric was hand-printed by the batik process which is a traditional technique that has nothing to do with factories or chemical labs, etc. Once in a while the wax used in this process does funny things. While we do not feel this dress meets our first quality standards, the little marks will not bother someone who is used to buying vintage clothing (and many of our customers are vintage collectors) but it will really bother a perfectionist or someone who paid full price. It is possible the marks will come out with expert dry cleaning which we do not have here in Bali, but it is also possible they will not come out.
